Calf serum also contains rich nutrients and is widely used in various fields, mainly in cell culture, biological product production, scientific research, virus culture, in vitro diagnostic reagents, large-scale animal cell culture, drug development, and specific cell culture applications. For example, when cultivating Plasmodium falciparum, it can be used together with specific culture medium components to increase the growth rate of the parasite.
